Grants

Several agencies have been awarded grant money to obtain SafeScene.  Read below for more grant information and updates.

SafeScene on DHS Approved Equipment List (AEL)
The Department of Homeland Security-approved Responder Knowledge Base (RKB) provides emergency responders with a single source for integrated information on Approved Equipment List (AEL) equipment, certification and standards, training and other resources.

SafeScene is listed and approved on the Responder Knowledge Base at www.rkb.mipt.org and is allowable under certain Department of Homeland Security grant programs.

2010 Aid to Firefighters Grants (AFG)
Congressional appropriation bills indicate the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program will be funded at approximately $390 million in 2010.

While the 2010 AFG application window has not yet been announced, it is likely to be fairly consistent with the 2009 AFG application window, which ran from mid-April through mid-May.

AFG awards aim to enhance response capabilities and to more effectively protect the health and safety of the public with respect to fire and other hazards.  The grants enable local fire departments and emergency medical services organizations to purchase or receive training, conduct first responder health and safety programs, and buy equipment and response vehicles.

An applicant tutorial is available through the www.firegrantsupport.com website.  The tutorial provides an applicant with valuable grant information and will serve as a walk through of the preparation and submittal of competitive applications.  In addition, the applicant tutorial will provide an overview of the funding priorities and evaluation criteria.  Applicants who have questions regarding the Assistance to Firefighters Grants opportunity should contact the help desk at 1-866-274-0960 or at firegrants@dhs.gov.

Click here to contact us if there is any information that we can provide you to assist in your grant application.  SafeScene has been purchased previously with AFG grants, and we are available to provide assistance to departments interested in procuring SafeScene with an AFG grant.
