Improve Personnel Safety

SafeScene was carefully developed and tested with a focus on improving personnel safety.  Throughout the system there are tools and monitoring methods that ensure personnel safety.  Three examples are illustrated below:

PAR Timers

User-definable PAR timers can be established for each crew or sector.  When a PAR timer has expired, the SafeScene application blocks all other command action until the timer is reset, prompting incident command to call for PAR and assure that personnel are safe. 

Adding Untagged Personnel

Recognizing that personnel may, for whatever reason, not have a SafeScene personnel tag, SafeScene allows command staff to add untagged personnel and apparatus for the duration of the incident.

Battery Life Monitor

SafeScene constantly monitors the battery life of the SafeScene first responder tags so that personnel are assured of having sufficient battery life to be detected upon arrival at the incident scene.  With a user-definable battery consumption level, the system alerts command that a tag battery is lower than the threshold. 

For further safety, a Battery Life Report is one of SafeScene's standard, automatically-generated reports that are available to command immediately after the incident.
